Due to its success and increased interest by parents, I was no longer able to teach one-on-one and therefore resorted to a “one-room schoolhouse” style with several students of various ages (8 – 13 yrs. old) being instructed simultaneously. Each of the students made progress with an increase of two grade levels being the lowest. As a volunteer at the local library Adult Literacy Program, I was able to use this program successfully with several adults thus proving that it’s never too late to learn to read. This is THE BEST method of reading instruction and the most cost-effective.
