Central Shenandoah EMS Council, Inc. is celebrating it’s 35th Anniversary this year. For 35 years, CSEMS has proudly served as the regional coordinating body for EMS agencies in the Sixth Planning District of Virginia. During this time, there have been many changes in the world of prehospital care, but at the same time, the more things change, the more they stay the same. While looking back over the years, one thing is clear: the problems that plague EMS today are the same as those the industry faced in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

7. McHugh’s Tutoring

About: My name is Ian McHugh, and I am a Staunton-based SAT/PSAT tutor who serves the local community. Why am I qualified to help teach your student? 1. I am a homeschooled senior who took the SAT last spring. I took the test three times and raised my score by 200 points. My final SAT score was in the 99th percentile, with 750+ points in both the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math sections. 2. I tutor at Blue Ridge Community College and have helped teach my four younger siblings for years. I am easy to get along with and connect well with different personalities. 3. Because I studied for and took the test last year, I know the ins and outs of studying for the SAT as a high schooler more than most older tutors do. 4. I am not trying to sell you a particular program (like Princeton Review cough, cough), and I will only use materials I know work best (spoiler- the free stuff from the college board). 5. I am not going to pretend that there are easy tricks to unlocking the SAT. There are no hidden shortcuts (although there are helpful strategies I can provide to take your testing game to the next level). Contact me for rates and availability. I look forward to helping with your SAT preparation!
